Morning Glory, 24" round, and Glorious Morning

Glorious Morning in Private Collection

Morning Glory: A closeup of a fully-blossomed purple morning glory and its leaves.

This painting of the Morning Glory flower was inspired by the statement after the Revolutions of 1776, "Glorious Morning". The work pays homage to translucent petals and resplendent style of the home garden of Carol and her husband Alexander.

Glorious Morning, Front: The front of a black wooden chair; its back has been painted with a bright purple morning glory, and the remainder is decorated with leafy vines.

Glorious Morning, Back: The same chair as the previous image, with a morning glory design on the back as well.

In another tribute to amazing flora, Carol painted a mandolin as well as a chair (above) to look like blossoming petals, for the historic renovation fundraiser event 'Six Chairs' in Lexington, MA.
